A group called Ijaw Political Watch Dog, IPWD, has came out with a voice, they said appointing an itsekiri man as a market master is a barbaric act, in Ogbe-Ijoh Market in Warri South Local government Area.

According to the President of IPWD, Paul Akpowaide he alleged that Mr. Michael Tidi, and his crew members should reversed the appointment with an immediate  effect  because  we want peace in warri, an Itsekiri man can never be a market master in Ogbe-Ijoh market.

We want to state unequivocally that the appointment is meant to provoke and incite another Warri crisis and that the resolve for peaceful co-existence of the Ijaws with her Itsekiri neighbours should not be taken for granted. The market belongs to Ogbe-Ijoh Ijaws and not own by the Itsekiri and that there is no point to appoint Itsekiri man as Market chairman in Ijaw Market.

We should be very careful and understand the implications of appointing an Itsekiri man as market master in Ogbe-Ijoh market.The masterminds of this appointment of Itsekiri man as a market master in Ogbe-Ijoh market should quickly remove him as possible as they can to avoid a situation of another ethnic war in Warri.

H.E senator Dr Okowa Arthur Ifeanyi the governor of Delta State should call the chairman of Warri South to remove him immediately as a  market master in Ogbe-Ijoh market  and follow the due process of indegineous marketing system.

If I may ask Mr. Michael Tidi ,can Ijaw man become a market master in Okere  market, Ibeji market and others in Itsekiri land? This is purely a  cooked plan for another Warri Crisis that is coming.

For us to sustain the existing peace which we have successfully maintained for the past years, Tidi should Kindly remove the Itsekiri man he has appointed as a market master in Ogbe-Ijoh market to avoid another Warri crisis in the state.
