---Says Imo To Introduce State Policing;

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has commended the State House of Assembly on their proposed Social Media Regulation Bill.

The Governor made this commendation when the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Chiji Collins, Ph.D, visited him on Friday at the Government House in Owerri.

The Governor thanked the Speaker and his colleagues for their foresight in proposing this vitally important bill, noting that fake news has become a scourge and a huge threat to our hard-earned democracy, hence all efforts to curb the menace must be commended.

The Governor also received briefings from the House Committee on Project Monitoring led by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Amarachi Iwuanyanwu. The team applauded the Governor for his numerous laudable projects in the State.

Also, the Governor received on a visit, a team led by Senator Osita Izunaso, the 2019 APGA Imo West Senatorial Candidate, who came to pledge the loyalty and support of his entire campaign structure to the performing Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

The Governor commended the Senator and his team for making such a bold and wise decision. He promised that their interests will be put into consideration in the affairs of the State.

Governor Uzodimma also used the opportunity of the visits to disclose that plans are already underway for the introduction and implementation of State Policing.

Governor Uzodimma said that the strategy will be gradually rolled out in the State in no distant time, in order to enable the State tackle the issues of security effectively.
