DSS withdraws personnel from Gov Adeleke’s convoy 

The Osun State Government has reacted to the news of the Department of State Security (DSS) withdrawing its personnel from the security detail of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

In a press statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday, the government noted that it was a minor disagreement between the DSS and the Nigeria Police Force.

The state government disclosed that the matter has been reported to the headquarters of the two security agencies for resolution.

“The attention of the Osun State Government has been drawn to a report on the alleged withdrawal of security personnel from Governor Ademola Adeleke.

“We want to clarify that it is a minor disagreement between officers of the Department of State Service and the Police.

“The matter has been reported to the headquarters of the two security agencies for resolution. The issue is being sorted out,” the statement read.


The government also assured the residents of the state the there was no cause for alarm as the governor is secured and governance is proceeding without hindrance.

Rumour had spread on Saturday that the DSS had withdrawn its personnel from the security detail of the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke.

Unconfirmed reports said the DSS personnel were withdrawn due to insults in the course of performing their duties.
