Oromoni Jr.'s Death: Coroner's Inquest To Be Released April 15

Following public demand for transparency in the findings of the mysterious death of Sylvester Oromoni Jr,  Coroner has fixed Monday April 15, 2024 to release inquirry report to the public.

The controversial death of the 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni Jr., a student at Down College in Lagos caused serious tension in the nation.

The sad event took place on November 30, 2021, when he lost his life following an injuries sustained in an alleged attack by senior students of the school.

However, the death of Oromoni triggered widespread uproar which intensified demands for accountability within Nigeria's educational institutions.

A situation that prompted the Lagos State Government to close down the school and initiated a coroner inquest to probe into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident, a process that commenced in January 2022.

It was learned that throughout the investigation, the Oromoni family was supported by the Human Rights Lawyer Chambers of Femi Falana (SAN) and he diligently pursued the truth and justice.

Inspite of attempt to subvert justice by the school, the family was steadfast and committed to seeking justice at any cost, not only for their son but also for all victims of negligence within the nation's educational institutions.

Following the public eagerness to get the outcome of the findings of the inquiry, the Oromoni family had made a heartfelt plea for national solidarity, urging Nigerians to come together in prayer to support them. They are hopeful that the inquiry's results would uncover the actual events leading to Sylvester Jr.'s mysterious death and will also bring about accountability and reforms in Nigeria's educational system.
