Hon. Wilson Independence Gege Agediga has been laid to rest in Sokebolou, Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State, Thursday, June 27, 2024. He passed away on June 2, 2024, at the age of 64, after a brief illness. The funeral ceremony was held at his residence, Beautiful Gate Zion, Sokebolou, starting at 10:00 AM.

Tears flew from the eyes of family members, friends, well-wishers and colleagues of late Hon. Wilson Independence Gege Agediga while bidding him a farewell.

The Biography of Late Hon. Wilson Independence Gege.

He was born on October 1st, 1960 in the families of Late Gege Arighabofa Agediga of Fikesei and Igborugbo quarters of Sokebolou Town; Kenika quarters of Ogulagha Town in Ogulagha kingdom, Burutu L.G. A; and Egbenebor Idumu of Agge Town in Ekeremor L.G.A of Bayelsa State and Mama Binkayai Agediga (Nee Aruwei) of Oporoza and Kunukunuma communities of Gbaramatu kingdom in Warri south west Local government Area of Delta State.


In his early age in Sokebolou he attended Fikesei Primary School, Sokebolou (1965 to 1970), and proceeded to Ogidigben Grammar School from 1976 to 1979 where he obtained his West African School Certificate (WASC). He later went on to become an auxiliary teacher at Fikesei Primary School, Sokebolou.
Dignitaries attended the funeral ceremony, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Funkekeme Solomon, Senior Special Adviser to Delta State Governor, Hon. Anthony Ebitonmo Alapala, Delta State House of Assembly Member in Burutu Constituency 1, Julius Pondi, National Assembly member, Former Commissioner for oil & gas, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduda, Paul kurugbe PDP faithful and others across Delta State in the funeral service of late Hon. Wilson Agege Agediga in solidarity.

Those who read the goodwill message said Hon. Wilson Agege Agediga was the people's man, who never failed to contribute his quota towards the development and the wellbeing of his community sokebolou while alive.

Hon. Wilson Gege Agediga has earlier been in politics he was elected Councilor representing Ward II (Ogulagha/Iduwini ward) in 1996. Hon. Wilson Gege Agediga was a man of the people, who was present for everybody that came his way. He was a great footballer of all time and a socialite.

Late Hon. Wilson Gege Agediga was a successful businessman and  also doing contracts with SPDC and other companies. Until his death, he was the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Gewil Ventures Nigeria Limited.

The funeral services was officiated by a priest from Beautiful Gate Zion in sokebolou.

In the sermon, the officiating pastor preaching seriously on repentance. He emphasised that life without Christ is empty. He went further to say life is about choice but the power of death and judgement belong to the ultimate God. He admonished dignitaries at the funeral to live an acceptable life for the Lord.
