"A hermaphrodite is an organism that possesses both male and female reproductive organs, allowing it to produce both sperm and egg cells. The term originated from Greek mythology (the child of Hermes and Aphrodite)."

In the context of Nigeria's electoral laws, Nyesom E. Wike has since the year 2023 deliberately decided to transform himself into a "hermaphrodite".

Not just any hermaphrodite, but the King of Hermaphrodites in Nigeria.

Wike, has achieved this by his dual and simultaneous membership of both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

When the drafters of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 inserted Sections 68, 109, 224 to 228 into the Nigerian Constitution, it was deliberate and intentional, to prevent the emergence of "Hermaphrodites" within the ecosystem of political parties in Nigeria.

For example, Sections 68 and 109 of the Nigerian Constitution provides the rules to prevent dual and simultaneous membership of two different political parties at the same time. It provides for legitimate procedure for politicians (legislators) who had become dissatisfied with the MANIFESTOS of the political party that brought them into power, to defect or cross-carpet to another, different political party.

Sections 77 and 84 of the Electoral Act, 2026 also prohibit and penalise Nigerian politicians from holding dual, simultaneous membership of two different political parties.

IDEALLY, the logic is that each political party represents a different ideology as reflected in it's manifesto.

Therefore, it is logical that each Nigerian politician can only subscribe to one political party at any given time.

According to Thomas Hobbes, to avoid total breakdown of law and order in any society which can result in a "state of nature", these electoral rules and rules to govern political parties are enshrined inside both our Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act, 2026.

Since the year, 2023, Wike has refused to abide by these laid down rules.

And since no penalties have yet been visited upon him, he is gradually dragging others into his wayward course, which is like a tribe of Hermaphrodites whose distinctive feature is belonging to both the APC and the PDP at the same time!!!

The most recent disciple, and convert is Hon. Ogundu Kingsley Chinda.

An erstwhile, decent and law-abiding model citizen and politician, whose membership of the House of Representatives, National Assembly since the year 2015, was characterised by contributions to debates on national issues.

Now the erstwhile fairly decent reputation of Hon. OK Chinda is now dragged into the murky waters of Wike's tribe of Hermaphrodites!!!
